Movement & Well-Being

A Spiritual Approach to addressing pain and injury through movement training with a doctor of physical therapy

Rooted in Spirit and Oneness

Based on Cape Cod with Virtual/Remote Availability

  • “The path begins with a transformation of character — a transformation of arrogance into humility, greed into benevolence, selfishness into an unselfish willingness to serve, complacency into compassion, doubt into faith, and lust into love.”

    Radhanath Swami

  • “Though we have lived our life Totally involved in the world We know, We know That we are of the spirit”

    Ram Dass

  • You are not a drop in the ocean. You are the entire ocean in a drop.

    Rumi

  • “The creation of a movement based on spiritual optimism and political radicalism. That’s what I’m trying to do…make people feel that it’s possible to change the world. Make myself believe it’s possible to change the world. I want to work with people who believe in these possibilities while I recognize that I’ve had a different life than people.”

    Russell Brand

  • “We are soil. We are Earth. We are made of the same five elements—earth, water, fire, air, and space—that constitute the universe. What we do to soil, we do to ourselves; it is not an accident that “humus” and “humans” have the same etymological root.”

    Vandana Shiva

  • “We have, through our dependence on human intellect, become agents of resistance. We resist change. Which is not in line with mathematics of the universe. Which is, inherently change. So we struggle at every level of our society. Because we keep this very firm hand on the effort towards control. The effort towards reducing change. ”

    Zach Bush

Shaun Logan, DPT

I consider myself a mystical wayfarer living in Eastham on Cape Cod. We moved from Philadelphia where I owned my private pay physical therapy and wellness business, Logan Kinei, for five years. My wife and I decided to change our family’s lifestyle and we chose to move to the Outer Cape to live more with nature. With that, I wanted to explore other things and give physical therapy and wellness a break for a bit. Though I still worked part-time remotely with clients from Philadelphia, I wanted to work with the Earth and learn more about gardening, plants, soil, and growing food. I needed to understand the Earth better through the soil and plants. Through them I have come to understand wildlife, insects, water, and all of life on this Earth better. I have also gained deeper insight into humans role on Earth.

Throughout this time I have been able to enjoy spending time gardening around my family garden as well as working with Edible Landscapes of Cape Cod. I am the designer for Edible Landscapes and get to draw and design gardens for spaces all over Cape Cod. Connecting with the Earth brought back my suppressed creativity and I began drawing and painting again for the first time since high school (graduating back in 2003). See art work here.

Gaining new perspectives about life continues to change my understanding of energy, the Earth, and life. I want to help others understand this as well - through the means appropriate for the individual at the time. Whether it’s physical work through fitness and physical therapy, or meditative practices, or gardening, or grounding or hiking through nature while doing mindful practices, or gardening. My own journey has included all of these and they are all wonderful tools to use at the appropriate moments. Collectively these tools can be used to change us in a way that we become more whole…in a way that we understand that we are only part of the sum and in this we find peace, beauty, health, and joy.

I prefer not to subscribe to one type of practice because it feels limiting to me. I see beauty in many methods so I take those aspects that speak to me and work with them but I do not label myself as anything. I am conveying this because I want to be as inclusive as possible. I often feel like an outsider because I don’t identify with any particular group or practice so I want to open myself to everything. With that said, my mystical/spiritual practices are mostly within Bhakti Yoga, karma Yoga, and Sufism. Teachers I have been most drawn to as of late are Ram Dass, Radhanath Swami, Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee, the Earth, and Findhorn. I’m really just looking to find people to explore and learn with, possibly as the facilitator…or not.

I graduated with a B.S. in Kinesiology from Penn State in ‘07 and a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Drexel University in ‘10. My background is working with athletes from children to professionals to older adults. I then started Movement by Logan, which later became Logan Kinei, in 2014 as a private pay physical therapy business in Philadelphia which successfully operated until I decided to end it in 2019. I developed and ran corporate pilot programs with Comcast, where I learned a lot about what I don’t want to do and what I do believe in. I came back to calling it Movement by Logan because it felt right. Having been licensed in NJ and PA, I currently hold a physical therapy license in Massachusetts.

My speciality is meeting people where they are right now and helping them get to where they can be. Sports and orthopedics is my comfort zone but I’ve helped people with all sorts of issues so please don’t hesitate to ask. If I think I can help, I will! And if I don’t think I am right for the job, I will say so and help you find somewhere or someone who is.

We have the choice to use our life and all of the material things in this world for spiritual purposes or material purposes. All of my life is about deepening my understanding and awareness of myself as part of the whole - the world spirit, the universal spirit - the energy that is life itself and is the source that connects us with everything else. It is love. Through this individual healing, joy, and peace come. Through this collective healing, joy, and peace come.

I have come to understand that my life is my message, as the quote above by Gandhi says, and I practice to live this way.
